Here’s a sampling of beautiful DC Market Street—one of my favorite places to photograph! It has a unique Art Deco-inspired feel with gorgeous architecture, a charming fountain, winding paths, mountain views, a bridge, a tunnel, and even beautiful barn-style doors that make for so many fun and varied backdrops

It's also incredibly convenient. Easy parking, public restrooms, and plenty of benches and seating make it a wonderful choice for families with little ones. One of my favorite things about this location is how well it photographs throughout the day. With so many covered walkways and shaded areas, it's beautiful in the early morning, midday, and even later in the afternoon.

As an added bonus, once your session is over, you're surrounded by fantastic restaurants and cafés. My personal favorite? The Living Room—it's the perfect place to relax and grab a bite after your photo session!

one of my absolute favorite places to photograph. You'll find towering saguaros, beautiful desert flora, scenic trails, an amphitheater, a fun zigzag rusty bridge, a unique weathered steel wall, and, of course, stunning mountain views.

Sunrise and sunset are especially magical, offering breathtaking mountain vistas, glowing desert light, and spectacular city views. Perched above the Valley, this trailhead provides sweeping landscapes and dramatic big-sky backdrops that are quintessential Arizona.

I'm here so often that I jokingly call this trailhead my office! The best part? Professional photography requires a permit—and I have an annual permit—so you're all set. Just show up, relax, and let me do the rest.

Amazing light, sweeping vistas, fun rock formations, and the dreamy golden grasses that I absolutely love photographing families in! It's a bit of a drive to North Scottsdale... but ohhh, is it worth it.

The scenery is breathtaking, and the images we create here are always something special.

Oh and yes - I have a permit for this location.

The Scottsdale Civic Center is one of the crown jewels of Old Town Scottsdale. After a major renovation completed in 2023, it has become a beautiful blend of public park, event venue, public art installation, and gathering place.

Modern architecture mixed with lush landscaping.
Clean lines and open spaces for editorial-style portraits.
The LOVE sculpture for fun engagement or senior photos.
Evening light reflecting off the fountains.

Plenty of shade options throughout the day. The only challenge is that weekends and event days can get quite busy, so weekday mornings or golden hour on non-event days tend to be the best times to shoot. Let's go!

The Secret Meadow isn't really a secret at all—it's more of a hidden gem that I'm always scouting! The exact location changes throughout the year depending on the weather, construction, and trail conditions. Sometimes it's lush and green, sometimes it's filled with dreamy golden grass that looks like a wheat field, sometimes it's a little too muddy, and sometimes...it's absolutely perfect.
One thing is always the same: I'm constantly searching for the best version of the meadow. When the conditions are just right, it becomes one of the most magical places for family photos, with wide-open spaces, gorgeous light, and a soft, natural backdrop that lets your family be the focus.

The Arizona desert at its finest! This location has everything you love about the Sonoran Desert—beautiful mountain views, a scenic trail, stunning native landscaping, and a charming rustic fence that makes for fun and unique portraits. Mountain backdrops in nearly every direction.
It's a true hidden gem that comes alive at sunset, when the warm golden light paints the desert in rich, vibrant colors. If you're looking for classic Arizona scenery with a variety of natural backdrops, this spot never disappoints.
Nestled along Roosevelt Street between 3rd Street and 1st Avenue is one of my favorite places to photograph in the Valley—Roosevelt Row (or "RoRo," if you're one of the cool kids).
When I say "art district," I'm not talking about stuffy galleries and velvet ropes. I'm talking about vibrant graffiti murals, funky local boutiques, cozy coffee shops, colorful bungalows, and creativity around every corner. Some of the incredible wall art is commissioned by renowned artists, while other masterpieces are painted on the side of...yes...a dumpster. And trust me, it's the coolest, most photogenic dumpster you've ever seen. We will absolutely be taking photos in front of it!
I am in LOVE with this location. It's urban, colorful, energetic, and every session feels completely unique. Around every corner is another amazing backdrop, making it impossible to run out of inspiration.
Now, a few things to know: parking can be a little tricky, we'll spend some time walking to discover the best murals, and yes, we'll occasionally have to work around other people. But honestly, that's all part of the experience—it feels like an adventure, and the results are always worth it.
I recommend this location for families with children who are at least 4 years old and past the "runner" stage. If you're looking for something fun, modern, artistic, and unlike anywhere else in Arizona, Roosevelt Row is an absolute winner.

Located in central Phoenix at the base of South Mountain, Scorpion Gulch is one of the Valley's most unique photography locations. Originally built in the 1930s as a home that sold candy, and souvenirs to travelers, the stone structure now stands abandoned. The roof is long gone, but the weathered walls, arched doorways, and rustic stonework are fabulous.

This spot is full of texture and history, creating an incredible backdrop that's unlike anywhere else in the Valley. Between the old stone ruins, desert landscape, and nearby mountain views, there's no shortage of creative opportunities.

It's a bit of a drive, the surrounding area is a little rough around the edges, and we may have to watch out for the occasional broken beer bottle. Once you're inside the ruins, you'll understand why I keep coming back. The photographs are absolutely worth it, and this hidden gem delivers a look that's both timeless and unforgettable.

About 20 minutes north of Loop 101, this location feels like you've stepped into quintessential Scottsdale. Towering granite boulders, iconic saguaro cacti, rolling desert hills, and a slightly higher elevation create a landscape that's nothing short of breathtaking.

The vegetation is a little different here too, giving the area a unique look you won't find at many other locations.
If I had to hand out an award for the Valley's most scenic photo location...well, this one would definitely be in the running. (Okay, maybe it's a tie with a few of my other favorites—but seriously, it's spectacular.)

This location offers endless variety, from sweeping mountain views to intimate desert trails, making it perfect for families, seniors, couples, and branding sessions alike.
A photography permit is required to shoot here—but no worries! I have an annual permit, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy one of the most beautiful desert settings Arizona has to offer.

Located in North scottsdale it offers amazing mountain views, boulders, a cool textured rock wall, room to run around and a fantastic playground for kiddos to let loose after our session.

The textures here are so good!

One of my favorite spots for these silhouette shots.

Part of the McDowell Mountains, just north of Shea, less crowded than some of the other, but not short on scenery, you will love this spot at sunset or sunrise

Easy Parking, great bathrooms - it's a plus for clothing changes.

I have a permit!

So easy! I'll come to you, I will bring my studio lights, scout the area and make photoshoot day a breeze! I have never been to a home I could not find a spot - It's my super powers!

Great walls and textures, not really western at all

Love this wall

Can't get over the cacti here!
